Well, a couple of weeks ago, I reported that my Disco had a problem. You guys diagnosed that is was the CV shaft, and you were right. We took the car to a couple of shops just to see what they thought the problem was. The first shop said that the CV was bad and the rear rotoflex was shot among other things. The second shop added that my rear axle hub was cracked. The third shop, which was my local Land Rover dealership, gave me a $7000 estimate saying that Id be better off selling it. For about a week, my parents and I were thinking about what to do. We even talked about selling it (nooooooooo). I even contemplated the idea of selling it in pieces .Well, we decided to take it to shop two, which is a very reputable foreign car shop. We ordered all the parts, and it came out to a big ass #. So yesterday, I was driving by a wrecked car lot and saw a 1996-1997 Disco 1 which was damaged on the roof (it only has 30000 miles too). I stopped at the place to ask them if any of the drive train parts on that Disco were useable. And they were!!!! I called the shop told them what we had, and they openly said that it would be a good choice. So I picked up all the parts I needed and cut the cost in half. It should be ready tomorrow...I can't wait! |

Glad to hear you shaved off some of the pain, and you're getting your truck back. Kim |
