Hello all, I'm new here (new LR owner at that) and I have a question. I recently purchased a 95 Discovery, and I'm having a problem with the brakes. The ABS light will stay on about 80% of the time, but some times it shuts off. If I drive with the windows down, I can hear a click-click-click like a servo valve closing and opening. The sound goes away immediatly when I press the brakes. Also, the part that worries me, is at random times I'll hear a deep 'eerrrr' almost hydraulic sounding for about 5 seconds. If I press the brakes at this time, the pedal is very hard, and kicks back.. like the ABS just turned on for no reason. This sound seems to occur most often while I'm braking, not just randomly driving(though it does happen while I'm driving). It's fairly rare, but causes some concern because the braking distance is very poor when this happens. Brake fluid level looks good, and my brother suggested I re-bleed the brakes, but I wanted some of your suggestions. Thanks, Jared |

Well, I've found the information about the sensors and fuses in regards to the ABS. Now, I suppose my question is, what is the click-click-click I hear, until I apply the brakes? Any clue? Are there british people living in my tires? |
