My service engine soon light problems are resolved!!! I originally took it to Auto Zone for their free diagnostic, and they couldn�t get any useable codes form it, nor reset it. So I took it to the dealer yesterday. I had agreed to pay the $80 for them to hook it up to the test book and diagnose my problem. Dropped it off at 8:00 A.M. They said it would be done by 3:00. I called them at 3:30, and they said it wouldn�t be done till tomorrow!!! I told them that was unacceptable, besides the fact that I live 60 miles from work. Anyway, they said they would call me back in 15 minutes. 30 minutes later I called and said what is going on. He said they were checking it now. I asked what was wrong with it, and they said they were just hooking it up then. They hadn�t had time to do the recalls, which they said they would do first. Anyway, they called me at 4:30 and asked if I bought it from a dealer, I bought it form an auction, but he said it was the �Armor All� they sprayed under the hood that most likely contaminated the system and ruined the mass air flow sensor. Btu the good news is it was covered under the 8/80,000 smog law!!!! So it was all covered under warranty, at no charge to me. So all-in-all it was a good experience and I highly recommend Symes Land Rover in Pasadena California. I know he was required to fix it for free anyway. But I bought the car with 50,040. Just out of warranty, and the light came on the next day. I called them and he said if I committed to 1 hour of diagnostic time, he would see what it was, and if it was only an hour or so to fix it, he would charge me. If it was more than that he would get LRNA to cover it. When I finally got it there it had 51,600 on it. I had called Land Rover Riverside, and all I got was �Sorry, it�s out of warranty�. So if you need any repairs on your Rover, and you live anywhere near Pasadena, I recommend you go talk to Richard at Symes Land Rover. |

richard? is he a service manager? i know brian and joe pretty well. great guys, but the tech dept. is a bit shabby. i have had my disco in there more tims than i can shake a stick at, mostly with repeat problems they just cant seem to fix the first 1 or 2 times. anyway, just wondering who richard is... thanks. |

Yeah he is the service manager. Hopefully they fixed my problem? I'll let you know if it acts up again. Where do you take it now? |
