was bleeding/draining the PS system, and well, made quit a mess all over the engine of my '95 D1. I hosed it all off and now my truck is running rough. I did this 2.5 days ago, but it's still not right. if I didn't get too much water in the ignition system, shouldn't it have dried by now? any other ideas on this?

Check your spark plugs.

checked the cap and wires, appear to be dry. is there anything else that could have got wet to cause this?

so all the plus were wet with gas. any idea what would cause this? had a recent O2 sensor change, no check engine light.

Some of the experts on the board might be able to verify this, but maybe your MAF is going bad.

I'm no expert, but FWIW...Did you pull the distributor cap? If not, pull it and look underneath. Let it sit open overnight or dry it just a little with a hair dryer. Check the MFU--the multi function unit. It's a black box between the wiper wash tank and the inner fender on the passenger side. The box should have 2 clips holding it to the fender well. Pull it and check for water. Dry if necessary. Pull and check connections for water on your Idle Air Control, MAF, and TPS. See if they are wet...better yet, just spray them with electrical cleaner to displace the water. Was the truck running when you sprayed the engine? If it was, I always take alittle wd-40 and spray around the intake manifold. If the idle changes, then its leaking and you need some new gaskets. If it wasn't running, manifold gaskets are less likely to be the trouble.

it wasn't running when I sprayed it. I did check the cap today, dry as can be. drove it some more tonight (had to) and it got worse. check engine light came on and was popping. I will check the MFU and other things tomorrow. thanks for the tip.
