Need to purchase a high lift and wanted to know which size is best, 48" or 60"? I have an 88 RRC with 3" lift and a 01 disco2 with 2" lift. Thanks, Tom |

i've heard if you can haul it, 60" is the way to go .... i have not one, but two 48"s, and i still don't have a decent place to attach one during transport ... Kim at this point, i would be a danger anyway. i need proper instruction. |

Michael, LOL, don't I know it!! I should do that and a whole lot of other things ... Then comes the "paralysis through analysis" factor ... i.e. "but if I get the roof rack, I won't be able to park it garage" (in our highly dense sub division, LOL) ... and more ... "I really should take care of the CDL first", etc. etc, ad nauseum ... hehe LOL, then comes some other money drain that needs some attention ... Ah well, I will, I will. Sometimes, I can't see the forest through the trees ... hehe, All in good time, LOL Kim As Ho says, "Just do it" (I am going out now to rob a 7/11 ... nooooo, nooooo ...) |

You are right Kim. If I did not have the rack, I would be laming about where to put the blasted thing. It does not look too great on the bumper, not that anyone has a mount for that location, putting it on the rear is a pain as well, which leaves the floating in the rear passenger well option. You know, until you can rack it, maybe it is better to get a winch bumper combo, leave the thing at home, and if you do stuff that might require the jack, make sure you go with folks that have one -- or course, you gotta do the obligatory groveling first about not carrying one.. I think it is just insanely dangerous to carry those things inside the truck -- unless you can strap it somehow in the rear using the tie downs. |
