Hi,

Its time to replace my battery. Its a 97, this seems reasonable, no?

Anyways, any recomendations. I have no accessories, but I like to think i will eventualy get some lights. Optimas look nice, but a bit too rich for my budget. Any ideas?

cheers,

chris

Question:

Can a single optima blue top function properly for a Disco? I looked at them and they only post 550 cca. They do deep cycle though. Red top was 800 cca I think.

Is 550 cca sufficient?

Chris, Were you sucessfull in replacing your battery ? I have a 96 D1 and plan to replace mine next week. Did you have to follow any special procedures for the radio or alarm ? Re-enter any code for the radio ? Thanks for any info. -Tom

You'll have to re-enter your radio code, so have it ready. If you don't have it, get it from the dealer. You can do it on the phone, but you have to prove ownership.
My battery steady support gave me a really hard time trying to get it to fit with the aftermarket battery. A little coersion and bending was needed (hammer and vice). Thats about it.
