Blake,

Joking aside, 7.50x16 will fit easily without any rubbing or adjusting anything. I had about 21" front and back when I installed these XZL 7.5R16s.
xzl
These and the XL (XCL) are awesome tires.

they are all AWESOME. The XL (XCL) is directional which means you should ideally carry 2 spares - one mounted for left side and one mounted for right side - although not vital. The XZL is not directional and tested better on sand.

michelin xcl (xl) and xzl have both been used by Camel Trophy vehicles, as skinny as 7.00R16.

The XCL is a biased ply tire and can be had in 7.50 x 16 (31"). The XL (which replaced the XCL) is a radial tire and the smallest size avail is 9.00 x 16 (~36"). They can be had for reasonable prices if you check around. Typically, you can get them out of Canada and they are usually surplus from the Army and will have at least 85% tread left. I have some XL's coming and all are guaranteed to have at least 85% tread left on them. There is one place I know of that has the XL's available new, but they can get pricey.

yeah, unless you are going offraod 80% of the time the Xl's probably are a bad pick. i say again the only reason i am getting them is to look cool. i'll probably get rid of them in the spring and curse the lack of streetablility of the tire along with the others, but i'll be stylin ' in the mean time. (you just dont understand how badly the range needs some jewlery like this to make it look good)

I found this site a couple weeks ago as i had seen the XZL's recently and was kind of interested in them as well. it has a number and place of a guy who sells the tires in Cali.

Believe it or not, from what I have read, they are not that bad on the road. Sure, they won't feel like a street tire, but considering how aggressive they are, they aren't that bad at all. One guy went from Swampers to these and said that they were a HUGE improvement. I'm keeping my AT's for Mon-Fri driving, and will only be running my XL's on long event weekends. Unless I throw them on to pose with.

Like Seinfeld says "Not that there's anything wrong with that".

There was a test years ago in a LR mag and these Michelins were overall poor with lousy road performance and average off road. BFG MT did much better.
That said Cooper just stopped making the STT 750r16 I've got. I just ruined one tire and cannot get it replaced :(
Since then both BFG and Goodyear have redone their MT
