I have been trying to purchase a Safety Devices roofrack for my Disco Series II, twin sun roofs and front roof rails. I believe you refer to them as 'Adventure' roofracks.

I am based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and to buy direct from S.D. in the UK leads to expensive shipping costs.

Does anyone know of any dealer in the US who may be able to ship to Saudi Arabia? I am hoping the costs of shipping might be a bit cheaper. Then I can start spending on those lovely hi-Lift jack mounts I have just seen!!

How much oil are you willing to trade for it? A few thousand barrels will work, as you well know (and probably don't care) the Disco's use alot of gas.

Hey Jeremy,

Ahhh, Beautiful sunny Dhahran, Saudia Arabia. I spent some time there during DS the first time around. Anyway, When you say you are based there, you are meaning you are military right? Or are you a contractor for the Military?

If you are a military dude, have it sent over on a MAC flight or a MARLOG flight from the states. If the Desert Duck H-3 guys are still there, give them a case of scotch to have it shipped off a carrier. If you are a contractor, have them ship it over with your next log run. You might have to grease the wheels with some beverage, but it can be done. Back in '90, the only place we could get booze was Fujirah, Oman's airport terminal. We would fly down in Helo's on "training" missions.

Hope this spurs some creative thinking,

Paul

You could also contact David Gage at the Thatched Roof Garage (.com). He is the US importer and can probably help you out. Plus, his prices are VERY reasonable.
