I have been thinking about getting some offset rims for my truck. I was wondering what is the most offset you can have and still be able to fit 265/75 Interco Trxus tires. The are very close when i tuck them in the wheel well now, but I found some 8-spoke white rims that have about 4" back spacing on them. Do you think that they would be able to fit?? What is the most backspacing I can have?

The military Defender (Wolf) wheels I have measure 4.5" backspace. They work fine on D1's and stop the rubbing inside the fender well.

BTW, standard LR alloy wheel backspacing is 5.375". Measure the tire/fender lip clearance and figure out how much you lose with decreased backspace.

I don't know if you guys have seen the wheels i am talking about. They are the 8-Spoke white steel rims that you see on all the series trucks in England. They seem pretty sweet and the backspacing is 4". I think this should add a little bit to the stability of my truck. But do you think 4" is too much

Like I said - the stock b/s is 5.375". If you go out and measure your truck with stock wheels and you have more then 1.375" of clearance between the tire and the inner lip of the fender from full stuff to full drop you'll be fine with 4" b/s.

Be sure you understand what b/s really is. The LESS b/s you have (smaller number) the CLOSER to the fender lip your tire will be. A b/s of ZERO means the hub attaches to the wheel in the same plane as the inner edge of the rim...

I just put some 16x8 with 4 1/2" backing wheels on my disco. I have $G stage III lift and 265/75/16 BFG tires. Had to trim a little on the rear fender next to my $G bumper.

Under full compression I am very close to hitting the rear door. If you move your bump stops down a little you should be ok.
