What is involved in replacing my rear axle with a heavy-duty Ashcroft one? Is it just the axle that needs to be replaced? I have steel wheels, so the end-cap is exposed if that means anything. |

The stock rear axle is one piece as far as the axle flange and axle being together. All you need to do is purchase HD Axles and Flanges. Check out http://discountrovers.com, I believe they carry Ashcroft for lower prices than anyone else around. If not http://eastcoastrover.com sells them. Another brand source for a different, albeit more expensive setup is http://greatbasinrovers.com. Some folks say these are stronger. I haven't snapped an Aschroft, yet, though. Tom |
