I am having no luck with my drivers side seat. It will recline, move front to back and tilt toward the steering wheel, what it will not do is tilt toward the rear. How do I attack it? It is getting power, but the motor will not turn. Also the front sun roof will not slide back, it will open but that's about as far as it goes.. Anyone dealt with these?? Gimme some tips.... |

NO NO NO!! The switch is not bad. The contacts WITHIN the switch are just dirty.....carbon build up!! You have to disassemble the switch VERY VERY VERY VERY carefully OVER a box to catch the ball bearings and little springs in it. Clean off all the metal contacts and reassemble. (MUCH easier said than done) Or, you can spray a TON of contact cleaner into the inner working sof the fully assembled switch, shake it around like a martini, and hope you cleared enough of the buil up off of the contacts to get it to work. I did that once and it worked. The next time I had to take it apart. Again....do it OVER A BOX to catch the parts!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL of the Rover switches are infamous for this. |

Yee-Haw, it worked ! Thanks for the warning about the springs and ball bearings!! I can just imagine trying to do that at a camp ground after a few beers, in the dark with no flashlight. LOL Now for the sunroof, it seems to go up then back a quarter of an inch then stops... Switch?? or could something be jammed up in the rail that it rides on?? If it is the switch, are there any tips you can give me on pulling the panel without any damage? Thanks in advance... |
