My red (SRS) Safety restraint light is on and I cannot figure out how to turn it off. Anybody ever run into this problem with a Disco 1? Thanks, Glen |

Soory Glen-you're screwed! Requires dealer intervention and even then, there is no guarantee it won't come back on. After a while, you will get used to the light being on and it takes far too long for them to burn out. Paul |

My SRS light-on condition was caused by a bad relay, ABS relay. I know blind shooting can be and just FYI. |

ABS and SRS are two completely separate issues, controlled by completely different and independent circuits. It can be any of a number of different conditions causing this light to come on (most common is low battery voltage), but any way you look at it, there is no way that I am aware of for lay people (us) to do much more than tell the dealer that the light is on. |

I had the same SRS issue for the last few months. I originally though it would end up being a DCU R&R but..... During my 30K service this week, the Tech troubleshot it down to a connector on the RH Forward seat-belt tensioner. They Cleaned it out, and applied some di-electric lube and it's all good now. That sounds great guys!! Actually my battery was dead this weekend and I had to give it a small re-charge, so i am thinking I should buy a new battery anyways and see if that works. Thanks for the help!!!! Glen |

if you have a bad battery, the weak voltage at start up can cause the SRS light to fire.. the very moment your SRS system is looking for 13.6 volts your weak battery is sending out much less, thus firing off the light.. Get the battery replaced and have someone with a diagnostic computer clear the code.. The same thing happened to me when my truck sat for a few months and the battery died.. most likely an easy fix. |

On a DI it is likely low battery volts (very common after new battery installs). On a DII it is almost always a pretensioner fault (usually a conector issue). Second most likely is on a DI you can have actual harness faults or in some rare cases actual airbag go "bad". Ron |
