First, let me clearly state 'NEW GUY HERE' and say thanks in advance for any help you folks may pass my way. Now the story - I just purchased a 1997 SE7. While following my wife home, I noticed the right rear running light in the bumper was out. This morning, I found the front and rear side marker lights, bumper light and tailight on that side were also out. Brake light, turn signal and flasher work. I have not checked all bulbs but the ones I did pull were OK and I can't find any power with my test light to any of these points. Having owned big Healey's during one phase of my misguided youth, this is not totally unexpected but I'm hoping someone here can save me the trouble of tracing the entire wiring harness. I did try the search but didn't come up with much. If there's a better site for this type of question, I'd appreciate guidance there as well. Thanks - Al |

Al: At least in our 95, the right and left marker lamps are on separate fuses, so look for a blown fuse. On the 95, it is fuse F8 in the fascia fuse box; may or may not be the same for your 97. Good luck, and welcome to the disco fold. John |

check the glove box light. I had the same problem and the metal frame around the glove box light touches the metal of the glove box and it shorts out-killing the right side lights. For some reason it is on the circuit with the right side lights and will keep blowing the fuse. Just disconnect the light and all is cool |

John - You're right; fuse was blown. I only read as far as 'marker lights' for the fuse diagram in the manual and didn't notice first listing was for the right side fuse (which was fine). Ed - You're correct as well. I replaced the fuse and it promptly blew again. Opened glove box, replaced fuse and it works fine. How did you ever find that one? Thanks to both of you. Al |

just take the bulb out of the glovebox light receptacle. Like you really need a light there all that often anyway....samet hing happened to me three times, said screw it, and its fine now. |
