Is your rack towards the front or back of your disco? what kind of rack is it?

Up front I use a single low Thule bar...my garage seems to be stacked by items I'm no longer able to use - think it was 5 bars at last count ;-))

I have seen people use the lugage bars that are already on the disco if they dont have a full rack.

This brings up a pet peeve of mine. If you're going to put limb risers on, please attach them to the TOP of the rack. I hate seeing limb risers go up to the bottom of the rack and then a set of lights and a snorkel top sitting above the limb risers totally exposed.

Jeff A. had his limb risers running from his factory brushbar to the factory roofrails, not a rack. Once he got a rack he moved them to the rack, as Niall pointed out, but you can easily make and use your own w/o a roofrack.

FWIW...

I'll have to look & ask to be sure, but I think that he essentially wrapped it around the rail, near the foot, and clamped it back on itself.

He bought all the bits at Tractor Supply... some coated steel cable, the tensioners, cable clamps... that was pretty much it as I remember.

I'll ask for more details when I see him next...

If you are going to use turn buckles to keep the wires tight, go to a marine store. You will be able to get smoother rounder stainless steel ones rather than the cheapies from the hardware store. They will set you back a bit, but will look much better and will last longer. This is what I plan to do once I (get a new Rover and...) get limb risers set up.

There is a write up on limb risers in the tech section: http://www.discoweb.org/limb/
