guys, while driving my Disco II (1999) at a normal speed on pavement, the lights on the TC, HDC and ABS lights turned on for no reason!! no dealership nearby! I do not believe the TC is working beacuse i did not activate when I went off road to test it this morning. what should I do? Jorge |

This one keeps popping up. Don't worry, your truck should still be drivable. I drove mine in this state for a good month, with no problems. It seems when Land Rover did the ABS computer recall, they forgot to let the techs know how to properly configure the new computers. At least twice, (once in my case) I've heard stories just like this, where the person (or myself) takes the truck into the dealer, and the dealer says: 'Ooops, we forgot to tell the ABS computer you do not have self leveling suspension'. The computer keeps trying to get the SLS actuators to do something, and it eventually gives up, and lights up those three lights. Take it to the dealer, so they can properly configure the ABS computer, and maybe give them the hint that's what's wrong, otherwise it might take them a while to find it. As an asside: It's great of the LR guys to set the computer to fail like this, after such a long time, and in such a vauge state. |

Jorge... follow Erik's advice if you've had the SLABS recall. As he said the Disco is drivable like this but keep in mind your ABS and ETC will not work. Also if there is a chance that the CDL is on you might not want to drive it on pavement but from the sounds of it I don't think it has anything to do with the CDL. |

I had the same thing happen. The lights had just suddenly come on. I drove it for about 2mos before I took it to the dealer. They just redid the ABS computer software and it works now. (This was under warranty, no charge.) -TOmmy |

I have experianced these lights four times: 1. Recall 2. Re-do Recall with "new" software 3. New bosch computer, CDL switch 4. Had them bypass CDL switch after last failure If T/C fails offroad you have a glorified front wheel drive car with an open diff. The vehicle will be unable to send power front to back or side to side. It will send the vehicle power to the ONE wheel with the least resistance. Your stuck. I installed a winch, as a CDL will most likely void elements of my warranty, which as LR owners we know how valuable that is! |
