Jess, depends on what size tire you are going to run.

The narrower rim (15x7) will be less likely to catch rock rash with a more narrow tire (under 11 inches wide). Go with 15x8's if you plan on going to 32's or bigger at some point.

Less chance of breaking a bead with a 15x7 at lower pressure....

Use the 8" rim with 315 or 12.50 tires and wider, especially if you stick with 34" size or smaller.

Typical 32 or smaller tire is usually only 11.5 wide or less and it will be just fine on a 7" rim.

Jess, I wasn't trying to be a smart ass, it's just hard to recommend a wheel size without knowing what size tire you are going to run.

Plus, some people prefer to run a narrower wheel than recommended so the tire sidewall bulges out more and offers more rim protection. Plus, with a narrower rim the tire is less likely to unseat a bead if you are running low air pressure off-road.

Zak,

Nope, Only in New Zeland... To many pay-offs to get thewm DOT in the US

If you look at the design of the rim its built similar to the high end 3 piece Al rims but the big diff is that the outer bead also holds the tire when its clamped down.

So where is a good place to get some decent 15" steels at a decent price?

Darn! Dee, those Procomps look great on your rims. What size did you get again?

Never mind Dee. I missed the post mentioning they're 31s.

I run 33x12.5 swampers on 15x7's with no issues.

One thing worth mentioning is that the width of the rim can make the diameter and width of the tire different. My tires stand a little taller and skinnier than my friends on 15x8 beadlocks because of the skinnier rim.

Zak, email me and ill tell you what sizes and prices i have in Plain and Bead Locks. These are built 100% stronger than AR made in Mexico rims

Yeah Tom, I was only using the sizes I mentioned as a general rule. I believe some tires with same section width but narrower tread may fit narrower rims with no issues. Sidewall height plays a bit of a role here too I think.

Zak, those rims seem really well built. Way better than AR IMO.

Not trying to make a sales pitch on this post but I have used all the popular steel rims over the years and looking at these I was sold on them in 30 seconds. There factory is state of the art in wheel manufacturing.
