What parts do you need? If you are in the US, you cannot buy from Safety Devices directly. However, call Dave at 423-578-6887 from www.ThatchedRoofGarage.com and he should be able to order parts for you. Thanks, Mike B. |

Believe it or not...my local LR dealer got me the bolts for $15! They also had the whole kit for less than $100.` |

What's wrong with the cheap blue tie down straps that are holding it on now? CB hardware |

You can just use hex head bolts on the bottom bolt hole. They are 6mm x about 1.25". They have them in SS at LOWES. I paid $4.85 with tax for 10 of them and they are much easier to use than the stupid allen head bolts that come with the rack. You will be amazed at how much lower you can actually pull the rack down with those hex head bolts too. |

Greg, That is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. Thank you. Do you happen to know the thread for those bolts? Also what did you do about the cover thingy that goes over the feet? Sean----nothing wrong with the cheep straps holding the rack on now except that they buzz like crazy and anoy me. thanks, brian. |

Brian, A DII rack on a DI? Do you remember how much crap Greg got for a DI rack on a DII? You should remove that rack before they start to make fun of you! PS. If you need a place to store the rack we can put it on top of my DII : ) |

Well, Brian, my rack came with the feet clamps, and all of the bolts. I was simply pointing out that the bolts for the rack can be bought at Lowes. Even SS versions. I actually put a bolt, washer and lock washer in the spot I was talking about earlier. All in SS. I don't have the thread pitch, but I gave the plastic bags they came in to Paul Morgan in case he wanted to use them too. He may still have them, but I don't think Lowes carried but one sized 6mm SS hex head bolt. I'm pulling from memory that they were about 1.25 inch in length, but could have been longer. As long as you have enough bolt to reach the thread and go in far enough to properly seat the rack and penetrate through the threads, you should be fine. LOWES only had one bolt that fit my bill. I don't have the size on teh two side bolts as they seemed to be okay on my rack. I just hate those damn allen head bolts for anything that requires some torque. They strip out. |
