Anyone know what the difference is between the ZF 4HP22 and the 4HP24 transmissions are? The 22 was used on the 4.0L engines while the 24 was used on the 4.6L Rangie. Anyone know if the 03 D2 has the 24? Other than the use on the bigger engine (and BMW's use of the 22 on 3.5L and 24 on 5.0L back in the 80's) does anyone know what the real differences are in the two? |

the 24 is a HD version to accomodate the extra torque...there were also differences in the 22 starting in 96 when electronic controls were added between engine and box |
