Sometimes local NAPA parts stores carry it.

I didn't find it at the NAPA that I drive past on my way home every day. Maybe a different NAPA might have some....

I wish Advance had it... or even AutoZone...

Point taken, Ron.... :)

i bought this stuff from Amsoil yesterday that you spray into the intake (airbox) until the whole bottle is gone. keep the engine at 2K-3K rpm and just spray it in. told from my local part guy that it works very well. will give it a shot this weekend.

I would be careful spraying anything into the airbox and sucking it through the throttle body, you're likely to fry your Mass air flow sensor.

well actually i will most likely remove the MAF and start just beyond it. i have used other products similar to this with no issue. actually use to use this stuff on my boats in the past. not the exact same stuff, but from amsoil i believe.
this wasn't a pep boys either.......very experieced foreign specific shop.

Garret you would have a real problem trying to get the engine to rev with out the MAF inplace!

Just suck it thru a vacuum line.

Actually, on a can of some other engine cleaner that I was looking at at Advance, said to do just that... to pull off a vacuum line and then feed the stuff to it that way.

I was also wondering about the stuff in a tall skinny can called "Restore"... wondered if it was about the same, or something to stay away from.

i was not certain about the specifics on what revs you need to be at, but i was just going from what he had told me. i have yet to read over the back of the can yet. so i was just guessing at the revs and therefor not having to deal with the MAF. i know it won't run very well........especially at revs. maybe it ain't a good idea to run without in any case.
i will take a look at what the can says and go from there and maybe go the recommended route of using the vacuum line.

ps: on another note. the breather vavles on the manifold: i was told by a LR dealer that you have to buy an entire valve cover to get that part. what is up with that? i was replacing the hoses the other day from the PCV valve and noticed the breather valve (if that what it is) was a bit clogged with crap. sprayed some carb cleaner to clean it up a bit. are they full of shit or what?

Hey All,

Go here:
http://www.bgprod.com/locator.html

Click on your state and you're on the right track.
The local distributor new my area like the back of his hand and put me in touch with a BMW shop less than three miles from my home.

I had looked there, but the nearest distributor was hours away, so I hadn't pursued it... just might give 'em a ring...

Are you putting this stuff in for preventative measures or is it useful for specific symptoms?

Order it from the web at http://rynoproducts.com/.

I just used it a few weeks ago and there is a distinct improvement in the smoothness of the engine (97 Disco). Cost is $17 per can.
