I recently had some work done on my 95 DI at the stealership. After they replaced the valley gasket and swapped out a bad MAF the car still wouldn't run. Two weeks of daily phone calls later they were finally able to "find the time" to work on it, at which time they found the source of the problem: The mechanic who had done the repairs didn't plug the TPS sensor connector in well enough to make connection when re-assembling my rig. I was stuck renting a car during that 2 week period because of this. Do I have any legal recourse, I have already paid for my repairs and rental charges? Or do I just chock it up to a good ol' fashion screwin' from the stealership? |

that sucks bit I would start with the service guy you dealt with and spell out your issues and addition costs you laid out and see what he says.. if that doesn't work, go to the service manager, then the general manager and then the owner. As long as you are polite and prove that their employees are the ones who caused you the hardship, most reasonable dealers will off to make amends... also check out the invoice, does it actually say what the final problem was? if they documented it and it is the mechanics fault, you will just have to let the document speak for its self. good luck.. |

Thanks for the advice. They never noted it on the invoice, the service manager told me over the phone and also said that he gave the mechanic an ear full. Of course this was after everything had been paid in full. |

Don't settle for that poor service and don't give-up. If one person backs down from poor service in any industry all customers suffer in the end. The squeaky wheel gets the grease!! |

General language on the check in form says something to the effect of "are not responsible for time lost without your vehicle" Should they compensate you, yes, do you have any legal leg to stand on, probably not Bob C. |
