it's not very noticable when travelling at low speeds. But when on the highway, i have to steer to compensate. The rotors and pads were replaced less than a year ago. i think it's a caliper - but which one? would it be the left or right if it pulls left? |

I've experienced this also. I have no idea why it happens. |

Maybe check your abs brakes. If they are acting up it could cause the problem. pull your fuse and check it. |

Most likely the right caliper is not doing its job, and the left caliper is and that's pulling you to the left. Pull the wheel and look to see if both pads (inboard and outboard) have evenly worn. I just put a caliper on a '94 Disco where the outboard pads were not moving at all and the caliper ejected the pistons so far that they were cocked in their bores necessitating replacement of the caliper. Fortunately, it was an easy swap. Unfortunately, I don't have an easy fix for you as usually, when it gets bad, the caliper either clearly needs replacement, or there is something internal causing problems that can't be fixed without disassembly and rebuilding. The good part here is that it's fairly inexpensive to rebuild the caliper. Now for the bad part-get in there NOW, before your rotor begins to crack and then, disintegrate. Paul |

If it does it just while braking - check the right side calipers first. If it does it all the time - check all 4 because it could be one dragging on the left side and/or still a right side problem. Regardless - they're all easy to check, so might as well take a look at all Bill |

Patrick, before you do all that just try it with the abs fuse pulled, it will take you 2 seconds. I had the same problem...it was very scary. I pulled the fuse and that solved the pulling. Of course i don't have abs anymore but at leaste I have determined the problem. I'm no guru but it worked for me. |

Problem with pulling the fuse is that the abs light will be on all the time--if you are planning on selling it--and you determine that the abs is indeed causing the problem I would definatly recomend that you fix it. Probably sensor problem. If pulling the fuse does not correct your problm then i would go on the the next step that Bill and Paul suggested. |

is the front right caliper leaking any fluid that may be lubricating the rotor/pads? |

everything is stock.. one thing i just remembered. one of the front calipers was replaced when the rotors and pads were replaced. humm. curious. i think the mechanic said that the pistons were stuck. i'm going to go look... |

Patrick -the calipers are rebiuildable if the bores are not badly corroded or scarred. It wil cost you a seal kit and some new pistons - should be much less than the cost of an entire caliper I'd think. If you do want a caliper - try "the parts bin" (.com) |
