I need some suggestions. I did some very light off roading today and when I got back I cleaned the vehicle. I did spray some in the engine compartment, but no direct pressure. When I went to start the vehicle after I was done it made no firing sound or anything, totally dead sounding. However, when I put it in nuetral it started. What could this be or what can I do. Help if anyone has some suggestions. |

Could be several things, depending on the following: What year model? Did the starter spin the motor? Automatic or stick? --Mark |

you probably just got some of the electronics wet in just the right places and they had coincidently dried out by the time you got around to trying it in neutral. Did it still refuse to start in park after you got it to start in neutral?? -carter |

I have always washed under the hood while the engine was running and never had a problem. It is my ford ranger. Haven't washed my 03 yet RT |

While on a trip to Tellico a few weeks back, I had a similar experience. I was told that the switch in there is going bad, and ever since that trip, about once a day I have to start the Disco with the gear selector in Neutral. I'm beginning to wonder how easy a fix this is.. |

It still would not start in park after it started in nuetral. It ended up starting about three or four hours later. Someone told me I probably just got the electronics for it wet causing it to not start. It has worked perfect since that starting in park and all. A friend said the best way to avoid it was to just let it really cool thoroughly before doing anything. Not just a small cool down. Thanks for the help |
