when trying to lock the doors with the remote the drivers door lock pops back up - not locking that door (happens from the inside manually too). All the other door seem to secure OK. If I try to open the drivers door after using the remote the alarm goes off even thought the door isn't locked. If I use the key to unlock the rear door the alarm goes off. The only way I can get all doors to lock is to use the key in the drivers door to both lock/unlock. Dealer mumbled something about a motor for $XXX.00. What's up here? Is this something that takes a special dealer only left handed torque screwdriver made in England to repair or can I R&R something? Many thanks. |

Same problem with my 96 D1 ended up being tracked down by my auto-electrician (only LandRover owners have their own auto-electrician!) as a slightly bent actuator rod (?) touching the door trim just enough to prevent lock activating - tracked it down by realising it worked with door trim off but not with it on. My 95 did basically the same on the pass. side. I would took apart the door panel, you can adjust the actuator(?) rod. Or the piece connecting the solinode to the lock mechanism. In my case it turned out to be the solinode's housing was spliting. I glued it and zip tied it together. That seems to be holding and now the lock works fine for the last 5 months. It seemed to me the solinode wasn't moving enough before, clamping it back together and readjusting the rod helped me. Good Luck Andy 95 d1 slc |

I occassionally have passengers front door lock refuse to lock. Then when it's opened the alarm goes off. Just below the inside latch handle on the door panel I have what looks like three large blisters. Is the actuator below the latch? I've had a dead battery problem in the past. Is it possible they could be related? |
