Try this again
I was reading the Warm-up Thread and I noticed someone mentioned pre-oilers.
Anyone who has experience with these add-ons, could you please shed some light to the following questions?
1. Is this a gimmick or real engine protection?
2. Does the Discos oil pick-up always ensure oil flow at odd angles?
3. Has anyone seen reviews, ratings on pre-oilers?
4. Anyone have any experience with Accusump?

Anyway, just curious because I have never seen a unit besides those within race cars.

Thanks,
Bruce

1. No it's not a gimmick
2. The thing barely flows oil at all. Not sure if works ok at angles. I haven't done any real angles since I installed a real pressure guage.
3. Many.
4. No.

Race cars use them for a reason. If I ever change motors, I'll install one too. Pre-lubers can also assist if you suffer a sudden loss of oil pressure. Not a bad thing in our expensive-to-replace motors.

Good luck,

-P
