From a 95 Disco, manual seats to a 96 Disco power seats? My leather seats have torn and it turns out to be cheaper to buy used power seats from a 96 rather than have an upholstery shop repar my existing seats.

Bill, I am currently in the process of doing the same thing. I was told by one source that the 95 does not come prewired and apparently mine didn't. Other than the wiring it takes new seat bases and cutting a hole in the center console. Hope this helps. Daniel

Daniel, the place that I'm dealing with said they will include the switches. I'm wondering if I can just supply a constant 12 volts (maybe from the lighter) to the switches and from there, through the oem harness, to the seat motors. Unless the seat motors get power from a source other than the switches? I don't know. I searched the archives for this, found some seat switching posts, but nobody seemed to have a solution.

Bill, I believe the seats at least the ones I have out of a 98 recieve power from a seperate plug under the seat and the switch has a seperate harness that goes to the center console to control the seats. I do not believe the seat recieves its main power from the switch.
