Went to purchase front brake pads on line and was asked weather pads had sensors? How can I tell?...What is your opion on cross drilled rotors? Are the Ferdo pads good enought or should I spend the bucks for Kevlar Pads. Thanks, Mark |

I have a 97 mine had the little wire that they speak of. I would just go for the Ferodo pads as they will get you adequate miles and plenty of stopping power (afterall its not a 150mph sports car). Can't help on the rotors mine were fine at 60k so left them alone. hope this helps |

Neither of my Discos used the sensor, I *thought* only Range Rovers did.... I just clipped the sensor wires off of the pads I rec'd.... I wouldn't bother with kevlar on a Disco, IMHO, FWIW, YMMV.... -L |

Range Rover Classics have wear sensors, the Discos don't. A Range Rover rear pad is the same as a DI rear pad dimensionally (and the Defender too). We use Ferodo, Mintex and Genuine primarily. I have installed several sets of crossdrilled rotors and two sets of Kevlar, but not enough miles to notice a significant difference in wear patterns, Braking effectiveness can vary from driver to driver. I am going to try cross drilled and Kevlar the next time my shop Disco needs brakes. Hope this helps... Trevor |

Kevlar is such a HUGE waste of money for a dam Disco!! They worj their best when they are SUPER hot!! C'mon npeople, it's a Land Rover, not an Indy 500 car. The cross drilled and slotted rotors are cool, I have them, even had the Kevlar way back and was pissed because it was a huge waste of cash. But, I had them, got it out of my system. |

Just use plain old genuine cheapos and enjoy genuine stopping power and the genuine glass-shattering squeal. I'm at a point where I seemingly panic stop at every light just because a slow, controlled stop gives me various discordant shrieks that blend into one grueling symphony of unadulterated agony. |
