I know I'll probably catch some flack for this because I know they've been talked about alot, but here goes anyway.

I don't have the money, trail experience or need for something like a Safari Guard bumper (good looking, but not needed yet). I don't live close enough to Kyle to buy one of his bumpers (which I would, just cause).

My question is are the ARB's (airbag compatible) worth a crap? I've got a DII and the airbag version is all that's available. This bumper looks pretty good, is reasonably priced and would be fine for the kinds of trails I go on (don't need gobs of approach angle). Plus I can get it locally.

What I don't want is something that looks tough, but bends up when I need it most. I don't anticipate having to lift the front of the truck with a high lift, but it happens. I don't anticipate having to winch it from a hard angle, but it happens. Am I screwed in these situations? If so, then it would seem the bumper is a waste of money even if it's at a good price.

Do the TJM bumpers have the same issues? They're "airbag compatible".

I'd just like some less expensive, aesthically reasonable, functional solutions. Maybe the ARB is it, I don't know.

Thanks for the help.

When you buy something like that try to only buy it once. if you have to save up a bit I would suggest to do it and hold off a bit. (see my thread lets get ready ro rumble)I ended up getting the Rovertym bumper. With all the Big Trucks on the road I would really check into the cost for shipping. My bumper from VA to Chicago will be only $100-$120 Which I don't think is that bad for something that heavy and bulky.

The thread discusses the pro's and cons of different bumpers.

T, I have the ARB on my D2 and my opinion is keep away from the ARB or Safari Guard. Go Rovertym. The RTE is about the same price as the ARB depending on your configuration.

Well ok ... I just bought an arb (airbag compatable). It will be just fine for me. Asthetically, I have to say I liked (okay, I luuuved ) the "KVT special" with the brushbar. Just not in the cards for me right now (maybe something to look forward to later on down the line? ...). Now, I bought the ARB for a number of reasons, all relevant to my own personal circumstance and needs right now. I know plenty of folks that have them, and I know that for me, at this time, it will be just fine. I am pretty much staying with the same lift (fairly mild) I have right now, (because I can't afford the new tires I want!!) so I'll just be using the OME 779 springs up front. Shocks are the OME n107's & 108's (hand me downs with only 3,000 miles on them). My tires I've been running are 255/70/r16's (BFG AT KO) ...

So, don't nobody rain on my parade!! :) I mean, look what I've been driving for the past year and a half ...

Hehehe, I am going to be thrilled!!!
