I have a really bad rumble with the exhaust, and I was just absolutly sure it was the manifold gaskets. I spent about 120 bucks replacing those, and quite a bit of labor, but turns out it wasnt the gaskets, but one of the converters.

Anyhow... I'm going to replace the exhaust system. I was just going to keep my manifolds, and run new pipe back to the back. Get a new muffler, and new converter. I had a price quote for $350 with one converter, or about $450 with two.

I'm looking for opinions here:

Dual exhaust [Yes/No]
Single Exhaust with 1 or 2 converters?
Go to Japan and become a Gaijan man-whore to earn money for a TDI [Yes/No]

More or less I'm looking for what you think would be an optimum setup for my 95 Disco.

Thanks,
Jared

No one has suggestions? Will I run into problems if I piggyback the O2 sensors before one catalytic converter? Should I just avoid problems and get 2?

Thanks.

Jared,
Check out the following: http://www.spanishtrailrovers.com/ for some information on exhaust systems.

Having lived in Tokyo for 5 years, suggest another method to save for that Tdi.

i would recommend a magnaflow center exhaust piece...with a pipe from there to the back...it sounds good...louder than stock but not ridiculous...a little better mpg...and i can tell on big hills a noticeable difference in power...the vehicle doesn't have to down shift nearly as much...later,

I think you have to post a picture for any realistic input about your ability to be a man-gina in Japan. P.S. you may raise more money in SF or West Hollywood.

Realistically, you may have a problem running both O2 sensors in series; especially depending on emmissions controls/tests where you live.
