I am new to disco, What is the best year a 99,00, or 01? And why. Any options that I should be without, Any options that are a real problem. I am looking at a 99 se7 with 52000 miles with sls, dual sun roofs,HK sound, no rear air(bummer), It is 24950. Is that about right, it comes with a 12month/ 12000 warranty. Should I keep looking for lower price, or go with a newer year. I will off-road mildly in it( I have a IH Scout just for heavy off-roading) The Disco will be my new daily driver.
Thanks for the info.

There never was an SE7 in 1999. They just had the Disco 2 with 7 seat package. But to answer your question the 1999 and 2000 are fine. The 2001 MIGHT be okay if it's one of the Disco2's made in 2001 with the transfer case that has the ability to be upgraded to have a locking center differential. If you do a keyword search here you'll find information on how to check the transfer case for the CDL nipple. As for other options I have SLS and ACE. What to get in the way of options is up to you. I wouldn't get the SLS myself if I were going to do it over but it's okay if you have a use for it. In colder climates I would get the cold weather package. As for that price, it seems high but looks like prices vary alot from one region to the next. Also check the service history on the vehicle. With 52000 miles you might be on your own if something brakes.

Brian,

I have a nice DII for sale, check the For Sale section here, or on my Ebay listing. I'll even throw in a 'necessary' CDL locking solenoid kit, already installed. It's prewired for a additional lights as well.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers,
Dave

Well, I'm trying to sell a truck Dave. The CDL could be the deal maker....

But seriously, we have a deal, unless I sell the truck via Discoweb....

Plus it takes about 4-6 hours just to remove the damn setup...
