I was under the impression (mistaken or not) that the DiscoII's body panels were made of steel...is this wrong? A half truth? Until I had read that I thought all Rovers were aluminium. I read somewhere that it was true, but just read an article in tech section about the Mantec Snorkel instal and the author states that the fender was aluminium. Now I need to know...heck I may not sleep tonight LOL!! RJ |

Steel and Aluminum. The front fenders, hood, and rear quarters are Aluminum as well as a few other items. The doors and roof are steel if I remember correct Now go to sleep! |

Take a magnet and check. But I think the D1 was mostly Aluminium. D2 has only the doors and roof of steel. But the rest of the panels are aluminium including the rear cargo door. |

D1, all Aluminum, except the roof. I was under the impression that the D2 was the same. Are the doors steel? |

Yep... steel doors for the exception of the cargo door. I thought the D1 had an aluminium roof like the RRC. |
