I saw a few trucks with some interesting diff guards at MAR this past weekend. Does anyone know where I can get some pricing on these? They seem to be a little better engineered than the clamp on conventional ones everyone seemes to have.. guess the question now is what is it going to cost me??

Ed, I just ordered 3. Two rears and a front. Total price with shipping was about $350. Not cheap. The guards themselves aren't too expensive but they only ship by air and it's very expensive but only took about 3-5 days. They have arrived and are very sturdy. Full underside coverage for all of your rock grinding needs. I will try to post something when I install them soon.

I just made Nathan, of Discount Rovers, get these QT's. He, as always, has a deal that can't be beat. Give him a call, and tell him John from N.Y. sent ya!

Edward,
The company is called QT Services, in the UK. Their website is http://www.qtservices.co.uk. I was dealing with Dave Marsh and he can be reached at [email protected]. There is an e-mail address on the website but I usually didn't get a response from it while Dave always responded. Finally, you can call them at 110 44 1503240770 from the U.S. As I said they aren't cheap but the quality and underside coverage seem outstanding.

This is the first that I have heard of Nathan, or anyone over here, carrying them but if Jroc is right it would be worth checking out to avoid the shipping costs.

Also, Dave just finished redesigning the rear guard for the DII. I have been talking to him for several months and waiting for the new rear to be done. I'll let you know how it fits.

Good Luck,
Rick

Rick, thanks for the info. I own a dI so I know they make gear for that. I also am in the freight forwarder business and make several trips a year to the UK, the frieght thing might not be such an issue for me. On QT's website, they are selling a set for basically $100 plus VAT. A great deal if you don't have to pay premium airfreight charges.Let me know how your stuff works out. Do you own any of their stuff right now? or are you waiting for the dII stuff to be designed?

Edward, front and rear guards for my DII have arrived and should be installed soon. Just need to find the time and coordinate the work with some friends. The front guard needs two small lugs tac welded into place and I don't weld. I'll let you know how it goes.

Rick, please keep us posted. I'm looking at the different designs as well and trying to make my mind up. I picked up a Bearmach clamp-on unit at MAR but I'm not real confident in how well it will stay on.
