Ever wonder why a Disco is so heavy? I rolled my '95 into a notch
canyon in AZ a few weeks ago. If you ever wondered what a Disco can
do "OFF-ROAD" here's a link....

http://www.edited.com/Friends/Mitch/ThelastLandRovertrip/index.html

Mechanically, it's in really good shape. After the forest road gave
way and I rolled into my wheels-up position it took 3 days and 6
people to get it out.

Flipped it right side up, patched a hole between mass air flow
sensor and manifold, turned key, blew some oil through the cylinders
it drove out 15 miles and 7,000 feet of elevation change.

Makes ya kind of proud. And.... very lonely.

Has anyone ever tried or had ANY experience with pulling the body
and building a open roll cage vehicle??

"After the forest road gave
way ..."

Yeah, what a trip it can be on ever changing terrain ... Hate it when that happens ...

Very glad to see that you're alright, never get any good feelings from seeing a roll over. Wish you nothing but the best. However, you can rip off that bumper and winch and send it my way.. Peace..RS

I'll copy the group sentiments. Check the UK mags and sites, they seem to do tons of custom work to DI's and I always see some kind of awesome hybrid in each LRM I receive every month.

WOW. Absolutely amazing. Great pictures. I love the plasticware. It looks good underneath, why not go for an open top conversion? I've seen a really neat DI pickup with a roll cage fitted before. Truly beastwars.

Where is your Disco located now? At Scottsdale LR? I'd like to take a closer look at it if you don't mind...

I agree, chop it up and bend some tubes and weld here and there. You will have one fun trail rig.

Mitch, I'll be happy to help you cut & paste :)

Has insurance totalled it? Do you get to retain possession?

Glad you made it out OK (except on the wallet, maybe). Hate to sound opportunistic, but interested in parting some of it out -- if you're not creating the LR Rock Buggy contraption. Also good to see that the rock sliders and bumper (front) held up.
