I have a 96 disco, SD...but how to install the new sub, with box, and amp without losing the 2 on the rear door! speaker wiring is not my stronger side. ANY help would be great, or hell even a diagram would make me so happy....THANKS |

If you are using the factory in-dash, I would suggest pulling it out and installing a hi/low level converter and run the amp and sub seperately from your factory system. The converter will convert your speaker level outputs to RCA. Mount the amp and sub in the rear storage compartments. (there is a link in tech.) |

i replaced my factory radio with a pioneer just the other day. everywhere i went told me that with the factory subs in the back it couldnt really be done without ripping out the entire system. i finally got a guy to rewire everything for me and install a 12in sub in the rear since with the new cd player the factory subs are pretty much not an option. |

Crutchfield sells the PAC OEM-2 "Universal Factory Sound System Interface" made by Pacific Accessory Corporation that supposed to fix any problems with putting in an aftermarket head unit (including the Disco). |

I have my two Infinity basslinks in the rear compartments, but also kept the rear door subs working. If your amp has high level inputs just tap into the sub signal wires in the pass. side rear access panel without cutting them just splice. No fuss, no long wiring. If you are using your amp to power full range speakers it gets a little trickier. It really isn't necessary to keep the door subs working with aftermarket subs unless you have level control on the aftermarket sub. It only would be handy if you take the 12" out and want to go back to stock. |
