Just got a set of mud flaps to replace the old torn remnants but I cant seem to get those rivets off of the brackets. Any suggestions? The new flaps came with some bolts that have a notch midway and a sleeve that fits over. I assume this is what I am trying to remove from the brackets, but how do I take them off and how do I put the new ones on? I must be brain dead. Any help is always appreciated.

I took a grinder to my rivets, you could probably drill them out as well. As for installing new ones it is a well known fact that leaving them off will give you an extra 10 horsepower.

I used a drill on mine. I drilled in an angle with a smaller drill bit then a bigger one. I never replaced the mud flaps and come to think, I did notice an increase in horsepower and gas mileage. I sure miss the nekkid ladies on the flaps though.

I attribute my lack of damage at MAR to my 2.85 mud flaps. I wipe them clean every day. They are good.

Thankyou my 2.85 mudflaps !

Don't worry, one day you guys will see the light. I have even heard rumors of mud flap removal allowing gasoline trucks to run on diesel.

Grind the heads off with a grinder then just pop them out....

Took me ten minutes with a dremel and a cut-off wheel to remove mine. Nothing but high RPM fun.

I'm off to fill up with diesel now... I'll let you know how it turns out Carter.

I tried the dremel and cut off wheel. All 4 wheels. I'll buy a grinder like kyle said. I did manage to get my rear right flap changed, so now my disco pulls to the right since its the only flap (kidding, of course).

If you really want an increase in horsepower, an additional 2" lift, and an immediate switch to diesel fuel, add some curb feelers to your Rover. They'll do it every time.

What makes you think I dont already have curb feelers? Maybe I bought some with my scented "crown" which I have sitting on my cargo cover.
