Does anybody have any experience trying to get a Freelander/Disco diesel into the U.S.? I know they aren't EPA certified for sale here, but there has to be some way around that! I would love to get my hand on a diesel with the manual transmission, neither of which they offer as options here! |

So far, the way to do it is to buy the engine, et al, and install it into one you already have here. We've been over this oodles of times (ie, trying to get Camel Trophy Discos into the country). It's just not economically feasible: by the time you buy engine and the bits, and install it into a petrol vehicle, you will be out a good chunk of money, and won't recoup it in fuel-cost savings. If you just HAVE to HAVE a diesel, you can still do it, it's just not gonna be cheap. FWIW.... -L
