What's the trick to get that out on a 96 Disco? The one by the HVAC controls. I don't want to rip it out, not a fan of breaking things even if I don't want to use it. I need to get at the console surround screw behind it so I can swap the AC and Recirc switches.

Cut up an old credit card into 4 pieces and jam it in there to unclip the snaps

I figured it would be something like that. I only had stuff to get 2 at a time, not all four.

Hi,
here you can see image nr 3 .In order to get all four you can get lower ones by taking cupholder out.

I just use a butter knife to unclip the top slightly, and then the bottom, to pull it out.

I used my fingers...pressed them and got it off. takes a bit of technique to get them in the right spot. the either ideas already posted sound great.
