I just swapped out a used stereo unit in my 2000 D2 and all was good. Recently, i broke a pulley which threw the belt and had to drive it about a quarter mile to park it before it overheated. i shut the ac unit off and the radio as well and hitched a ride to work. I went back with a new pulley and fixed it on my lunch break but had to call a friend to jump start me because the battery was weak. Got it running, all is well except my stereo won't turn on anymore. I haven't pulled it out yet to check the fuse in the back of it yet but i will. I'm wondering are these stereos that sensitive to voltage spikes or jumping that much? Is this a common problem with you other D2 drivers? My shop has another used unit i could plug in, but if it's gonna croak again, i'm a bit reluctant to install it. I miss my music though. Any thoughts out there? How about an aftermarket one? any recommendations? thanks
