Windshield Finisher Install - the right way?

Does anyone know the proper method to install the windscreen finisher - The rubber trim piece along the top of the windshield... Had mine off to repair some rust spots and could not get it to stay put, and now that it blew of on the highway I need to get a new one and would like it to stay put this time.
