I saw a 99Turbo for sale in northern Lower MI on Craigslist a few months ago, but it was a "total resto" type of thing. Guy thought it was a 900... had no idea. Good 99Ts are hard to find, but you might put up a want ad on The Saab Network (www.saabnet.com) if you have not already. A friend of mine sold his 99 EMS recently on "Bring a Trailer" and I heard it went the same day! Nice to see some of the stuff in my yard is starting to finally appreciate.

Was is that orange one? It went very fast. They had some funky colors back then. I had one in college (circa 1993) that was lime green. Loved it and was quite unstoppable in the snow with the skinny Michelins I had on it.

Thanks -

The 99 was only made in a turbo for one year. I had a non-turbo car in college. Good little engines, but the 4 speeds desperately needed another gear. Thus why lots of people swap in the 5 speeds. For about a decade my family had only Saabs - 900s and 9000s and then switched to Volvos (850s) and Mercs. I was a big fan of the 16V 900s. My Saab 99 in college was a beast in the snow. The first time Penn State shut down ever due to snow was in 1993 when I was there and it motored through it all just fine.

The guy that had my Saab before me (one owner car) wrote down every fill up, oil change and trip - how many passengers, fuel mileage, etc. Crazy clean car. I worked part time in college for the local Saab service manager who was moonlighting at night.

Are people really getting that kind of money for cars in that kind of shape? Good lord. Several years ago I just missed out on a very solid 99 Turbo with old Panasports and Cibies. Was under $2K. Fudge. Now I find myself looking at 996s. Focus.
