I did not hear what I had hoped to hear in terms of the Chevy swap feasibility, so I'm back to the question of whether it's worth it to have a shop put in a top hat 4.6 and fix my traction control, or just scrap the truck and buy something else. What that something else would be is unclear, and I have a strange affinity for the Disco 2. I have also considered buying a D1, P38, or RRC that is already sound mechanically and moving all my gear over. Surely $8-10K would fetch one. I just want something I can trust in the bush, at altitude, and in the cold. I've gotten 20,000 smiles out of this and it does technically still run, so it's not a huge loss...... YET.
