You're just paying for a bunch of power it can't use. There's been one sitting in a showroom here since release.

It's a waste of engine. Now, if they dropped that thing in the new Jeep pickup, it would be interesting. In the Grand Cherokee, however... It just doesn't make sense. They don't exactly have a loyal or enthusiast following, so who the fuck will buy one?

That much money will get you a brand new Navigator, and that's worth it.

Cheers,

Kennith

Had a co-worker with a newer Grand Cherokee and nothing but major issues with the sunroof. At one point the dealer asked if they could cut through the roof.

Imagine all these sliding panoramic glass roofs in fifteen years or so...

I never understood that. All these years we've been tailoring roof-lines and advancing tint technology as well as climate control, only to put a giant window on the ceiling.

Cheers,

Kennith

A $100K Jeep.....that’s funny.

People actually buy it....that’s sad.

No kidding. One sunroof is plenty. Why even bother though? They can be fun w the windows down, but after all, it is just another thing to maintain.

Yup, I almost had to delete a zero there. It does have 670ish torque but still a GC... Just seeing a cartoonish madman designing it without any target market research.

Lots of Sport SCs out there for $50K MORE

This.
And they're equally useless.

Never understood the super-sport SUV thing.
No off-road ability.
No useful cargo-carrying ability.

Seems to be mostly for labelwhores.
Which is most of the market for everything that isn't a yugo.

Take the Bentayga for example.
The interior is as glorious as a Conti, but the outside?
Fuck me, it's ugly.

We've sold three in the last six months or so. I have a guy right now that's getting ready to pull the trigger. He was going to get a HellCat and she was getting ready to buy an SUV to travel in when they go out West. This will actually fill the bill for both vehicles and save them some money as well!

A lot of people that come into the showroom ask "Why" - I respond back with "If you have the parts, Why Not?"

Just like the "Hellephant" that was announced at SEMA today. A new 426 Hemi crate motor with a 3.0L blower. The results? 1000 HP and 950 lb/ft of torque. It's just having the biggest at the time.

For me, these are VERY exciting times. Will I buy them? Nope - don't have that kind of $$ and have no use for it. But for some, it's what they want.

And honestly it isn't any more ridiculous than my rig that's sitting on 40's and portal axles. Makes ZERO sense to anyone other than me!

Anyway, that's just my perspective.

The Market is this. Someone who wants the get up and go of a Hellcat but wants to move around his family and dogs. Even though a smaller market I get it. How many trialblazer SS's did Chevy sell? Prob more than you would think.

The fact that Fiat Chrysler Automotive has a six figure car makes me laugh.

I get it, but just thinking there are better options for going fast in an SUV other than the 100k GC. Guess maintenance may be lower than LR or Mercedes, but if I had that $ to blow on an SUV, it wouldn't be the GC.

Don't get me wrong, if I were in the market a RRS or Porsche may be want I'd want however, That GC Trackhawk would blow the barn doors of a porsche cayenne I'd bet.

2019 Cayenne 550HP vs 700+ with the trackhawk? wow. I'd just like to drive one (rent) for the day. That would be all I needed to get it out of my system. I'd NEVER buy one.

Yeah, I hear you. At some point though how much hp would someone really need for a regular daily driver? I am all for bigger and badder so to speak but paying for something one cannot use daily is a bit silly. If anything buy a track car and smth else.
