Based on Chris' guidance, this thread is for your serious or humorous or just plain rambling posts on anyone who is now teleworking, or out of work, etc.
Not the place to regurgitate news stories, share stuff your grandma shared on twatter, etc. Its just for personal discussions: is it affecting you? Is it not? etc.
I'll go first. We are on telework status and I'm finding I pay more attention to work than I do in the office. Maybe it's because I have a fear that I'll be judged if I'm not immediately responsive.
As far as life interruption: meh. Restaurants are closed but we rarely eat out. We did miss our normal weekend go to a brewery and have a beer moment, but we did a 5 mile walk with the dogs on trails.
I thought the TP shortage was a bunch of social media garbage until we went for some supplies (we generally keep a stocked fridge and pantry but of course need perishables), nope, all the stores cleared out of toilet tissue.
Our sperm and egg product is still a toddler so school closings have no effect.
We did get the kitchen painted this past Saturday as well. That was nice. Took the place of the drive to a brewery for a beer.
Did just hear that one of my dear friends in Baltimore, who sunk her savings into a floral business a few years ago has now been shut down by the state of Maryland. All the money she has invested in flowers, etc, gone. Doesn't look like she'll be able to re-open because even if she can keep the landlord at bay, it's the investment in stock and having to re-buy that will be out of her reach. Shame, too. It was a small community business in Hampden area of Baltimore. Kind of a local gathering spot, too.
