@mike rupp - from their website:

"... still produced in our original workshops, each pair of Le Chameau boots is hand crafted by an individual master boot maker. The timeless style of Le Chameau remains the expression of a certain “art de vivre”.

Possibly some of their products are made outside France, yet, pretty sure the Wellies like the Heritage are still hand crafted.

Plan to try and visit their shop this Summer.

The only boots that are still made in France are the $500 Le Chasseur leather lined boots. I believe that everything else is made in Morocco now. Obviously it's not popular or they'd be a little more clear about it on their website, right?

Every tool bag from Great Falls and Greenwich CT wears a pair of Le Chameau boots to every fall point to point race! If they don't wear those they wear Duberry Boots. LC isn't a boot - it's a fashion accessory. They went the way of Berretta and Barbour and started pumping out superfluous shit to their already proven line. If you're in a frat you own a Barbour Bedale, a pair of Le Chameau, a Vinyard Vines shirt and belt, a baseball cap and a pair of Costa Sunglasses with a leash.

I've never seen anyone wear Le Chameau boots on the west coast. I needed something to keep me dry while crushing grapes and pressing wine. Being wet and cold isn't fun. The only wellies that I see out here are the women who wear the Black Hunter boots and yoga pants, so I chose something green instead. I got 'em online and the thought of rolling the dice on a $500 pair of boots didn't make sense, so I got the $200ish boots. They are fine; definitely not anything to brag about.

If you just need something to keep your feet dry go get yourself some Muck Boots or better yet - concrete boots.

I'll ad another brand to the pile as one I admire - McLaren. Granted - some might say they strayed a bit with the MP4 and MP4/12C but I admire the company.

Yeah, I can see that. Over here in Europe (at least in our area in Switzerland) the brand is still really used by hunters, riders, and farmers.

And yes, their site shows the leather lined boot being made in France.

As mentioned, we are going to try and visit their facility this Summer.

The idea of having a pair made for my wierd shaped feet is appealing.

Gatorade is some of the most vile bullshit. They used to make a good sports drink and honestly the powdered stuff is a bit better than the bottled stuff. But there are little to electrolytes anymore.

If you engaging in physical activity there is a balance of sugar and electrolytes your body needs. Most of the time people need more Electrolytes.

For any sporting event under an hour I just use http://nuun.com/

up to two hours I use http://www.hammernutrition.com/products/heed-sports-drink.HE.html

Anything over 2 hours and I am likly putting this into the mix http://www.hammernutrition.com/products/perpetuem.PP.html

My Red Wings have held up well. They have several fire ring marks on the sole. I bet I bought them in the 90's. I pulled out a pair of britches the other day, and said to self, "man, these have lasted awhile (and still look new), I wonder where they came from". Tag said Banana Republic. :D For value, I've been happy with Van Heusen shirts. I don't have the deeeeep pockets like some of you. Hell, best GD fishing reel is a Zebco 33 made in the 70's.

Right now i have on a pair of $13 dollar tennis shoes from Wal-hell. Chicks dig the red laces. I was really bored when I bought those, my cleaning lady was shopping and I had to be there.

Ohhh, how could I forget about this, made with real sugar if it comes from a certain bottler

My pockets aren't so deep. I'm single. So long as I can feed myself and a cat, I'm clear to be as irresponsible as I want.:patriot:

I try to buy something that's going to last a long time, that's all. It's why I'm so focused on warranties and customer service. I want to know that the manufacturer stands behind their products, because I'm a pretty rough guy. I can't have shit breaking when I'm running around.

Cheers,

Lowepro camera bag. I had a 7 year old bag that the main zipper split out on. Out of warranty, but I called them up to ask about having the zipper replaced. They said its not cost effective to do it, but hey, we'll send you a new bag anyway. I had been looking at different replacement bags at the time...now I'll never buy a different one.

Cushe shoes and sandals for the casual guy. Costco and their great return policy. Best Foods/Hellmans mayo. Lea& Perrins steak sauce.

I like A1 Bold and Spicy for use on a plate, but since I can't always find it, I just mix regular A1 with Tabasco. Of course, how I eat is a lot different than how I cook. I know what I'm doing, I just don't practice what I preach.:D

Cooking. Shit. I can't believe I forgot this brand:

Weber.

That was almost a crime.

Cheers,
