I recently replaced all the rear glass, as well as the sunroofs and headliner on my '95 D1. I used the cord trick (keeping the locking rubber piece 'in' the window rubber) on one of the alpine windows (as well as the back glass and rear quarter windows). On the other alpine window I tried...
Have you checked your fuel pressure? I had the same issue on my '95 D1. Mine started off where it would only do it at high RPM and under load...but eventually got to the point where I could barely get the vehicle out of my neighborhood (which is mostly flat and level). My fuel pressure gauge...
Re: Pinout diagram for Disco 1 Radio Amplifier - See attached
Not to bring up a thread from the dead, but is there any chance you could re-post the pics of the 6 .jpg images? I'm trying to figure out why my Disco's subwoofer suddenly went dead and the other 4 speakers are now very weak...
Yup, my '95 is injected. The old injectors were leaking down quite badly - 3 of the 8 injectors leaked, and would bleed off the fuel pressure within 2 mins!
The injectors I installed were holding pressure just fine overnight...but that was a couple weeks ago. I'll have to check again and see...
I've always thought the jump seats in our Discos were really cool. They're pretty clever, I especially like how cleanly they fold up and hide out of the way.
I'm at 5" of lift on my Cherokee, and I run those 235/85R16s in the winter. Even prior to owning the Disco, I referred to those pizza cutters as "Land Rover tires".
Great setup on the Jeep, especially in the winter. Stock gearing on the Jeep too, but it's an automatic with 3.55 gears, so...
Sweet! This means I shouldn't have any real issues with a lift and bigger tires, aside from fender clearance. :)
Another thing I like about my Disco - the throttle tip-in isn't so extreme. When I've got my Cherokee in low range, the throttle is just downright annoying. Rock crawling becomes...
Well, I removed and cleaned the IAC yesterday. It was pretty nasty!
This morning, the hesitation/stumbling was still there - but it's definitely considerably better...at least it doesn't feel like its going to stall on me taking off from a stop sign. And it doesn't last nearly as long...
Well the full-frame is definitely one of the things that made the Disco attractive to me, that - and the simplicity of solid axles.
I've wheeled my Cherokee for 10 years in very technical stuff, and have yet to have the doors or tailgate become misaligned (scratched and dented, yes). But yes...
Funny you mention that. What sort of Jeep did you have? I was never too impressed with how the Wranglers wheeled, but have been quite pleased with my '94 Cherokee (XJ).
Not trying to start a flame war - but after wheelin' the Disco for the first time, my impression was that it is a lot more...
Hello everyone,
Just thought I'd post here about a problem I've been having w/ my '95 Disco.
The engine has this strange hesitation on initial throttle tip-in, but this only happens when you start the engine after sitting overnight. There have been a couple times pulling out of the driveway...
Ah, so that's the serial mating connector I've heard about. When I first got this Disco, it was running very poorly and the check engine light was on. After installing new injectors and spark plugs, I got frustrated looking for this connector and simply unplugged the Fuel Injection fuse to...
