98 Disco 1, 150k miles.
CEL on all the time with various combinations of 1138/1158 For months I have had a problem with the speedo either not reading at all, or jumping around and sticking at 130+, or sometimes even working, the odometer worked all the time, but decided to try a new VSS...
Speedometer works fine for a while, then jumps to over 130 mph and sticks there, when i get to 50, it now reads about 90. so its going backwards. Eventually it will go back to zero and either hangs there, or works as it should. VSS is obvious suspect, but not changed yet.
Any one seen this ?
Update, thanks discostew.
Leak at bottom of windshield, water in base of connector 'L' on main fuse panel. Resealed windshield, dried out and cleaned pins around 'L' and all is now well. we will see what the next heavy rain brings. Haven't figured out what flows through 'L' and Rave is not much...
I think you are on the right track, i noticed a few drops of water on my left foot when i moved the truck, and they are probably coming from that area. I'll dive into in shortly and report back.
Thanks
Neil
Thanks, Yes, I have trailer wiring converter, i'll disable it and also see how long the fans run for.
When it stops raining here i'll hook battery back up and check. What is the part number on the MFU?
:banghead:

BUT....
When i turn it off and remove key....
The flasher relay keeps pulsing, and the two...
Disco 1 multiple electrical gremlins
Editing to add more info:
Started with only the flasher relay pulsing quickly, now the two electrical fans in front of the radiator are pulsing on and off, and the green trailer light is flashing very faintly and slowly. Oh, and the alarm goes off after a...
If one of the anti lock fuses has been pulled or blown - don't remember which one ( possible if the ABS light stays on also) the obd2 port does not have power.
fuse 4 in satellite fuse box 1 ( top horizontal row) - 5 Amp,
fuse 3 in satellite box 2 ( lower horizontal row) - 10 amp.
I did another pressure bleed of the fronts, then took the truck onto gravel and tried hard turn and brake, to kick in the abs, after two tries thing now stops on a dime! Replacing the prop valve bleed down the abs lines - and it seems they never refilled fully - are now!
BTW, it was stopping...
