Slams and a "heads up" are two different things. I thought it was more unbiased than anything...makes one think.

Piston making noise maybe? Have you tried the stethescope or screwdriver trick yet? Always seems easier for me to track things down that way.

I am looking for a D2 in the Columbus/Cleveland/Pittsburgh area. I would like a 2000-2002 with around 100k or so. I would love to have a nice low mileage one that needs head gaskets. I have cash in hand and am ready to buy. Anyone??? Bueller? Thanks

I would just go out and buy a new motor. It's easier than any temporary fix and and in the long run less worries. I'm sure some member could hook you up on a good deal. I got a used one for mine in December For $15 and no problems yet.

I'd check power to the motor and from the motor to see if it's the window motor or not. If it's the window motor then it's a cheap and easy fix. If it's not the window motor or the ecu and ends up being somewhere in the harness then it could be a big ass pain. Since your a noob, I'll suggest you...
