I believe I’m going to take it to a machine shop just to have a professional level everything off, so I leave no stone unturned. I will ask them to do this as well, thanks
From what I remember, there’s two cross beams that prevent the y pipe from coming out. You guys are saying it’s alright to remove them and not put them back on? Just making sure we are talking about the same thing before I CANT get it back on 😂
Hello, I have a 2004 Land Rover discovery 2. I have been battling an exhaust leak where the y pipe connects to the exhaust manifold. I tried to file down the y pipe in place, but I don’t believe I did a good enough job, as the leak is still prevalent. I stripped a stud in my exhaust manifold, so...
I currently am waiting on my Bluetooth elm 327 scanner to come in. While doing so, I figured I would research what all could be causing my issue (rough idle, bad gas smell when windows are down/ reversing into area I sat for a minute, black smoke, tailpipe black). I first was told to check for...
As I said earlier, I unplugged the maf and it seemed to make the idle either rougher or about the same; I never took it out of park with the maf off though because of it. Should I have driven through it for a few minutes to see?
I bought the wired one and realized the software isn't compatible with my computer; I'll go ahead and buy the bluetooth one you sent from ebay to connect to my iphone. Thanks for your help, I'll let you know my findings!
I attempted this, but then the thing started rough idling like crazy, didn't even remove it from park. I assumed that was a sign the maf isn't the issue? I'll test for it again, thanks!
Furthermore, I spent about 2 weeks working on the exhaust leak issue, and took both manifolds and y pipe to a machine shop to have it filed flat and had a stripped bolt machined out. The reason the leak came back is because they unfortunately knocked the thread, making the bolt fall out. The...
Oh no, I meant how long can I drive it with the maf unplugged to test it? I don’t want to drive it too long unplugged when trying to test it, bc the rough idle is intermittent and not all the time. 🙂
