    eh, went through and retorqued everything, tick is still there... Never when the engine is cold and only at idle. Very frustrating.

    It's def in the engine.... if you go underneath by the oil pan it is much much louder.... the ticking usually kicks in when the engine is warm, I would think that the exhaust would expand and the tick would get quieter as the engine got warmer. I'm going to take the pan off and check all the...

    So i have an on and off again loud tick on my 97 discovery. It never kicks in until it is warm, driving More10 miles an hour it goes away. If i stop at a light and leave it in gear it is very audible, if i put it in park, it goes away. Then again, other times i drive and there is no noise...

    Soooo... I think I found it, both wires to the cranksensor were bare. I taped them up and all seems good for now! So far..... lol Thanks for the advice guys!

    So today i put a new fuse in and it started right up and is idling in my driveway. Yesterday, after it died it would Blow the fuse as soon as i turned the ignition. Any chance this could Be a bad alternator?

    Thanks for the replies guys! I started going through the fuses in the fuse box under the dash one by one, just in case there was one in there that might someone have something to do with the fuel pump. The fuse for the alternator was blown, as soon as I replaced it the truck started right up!
