On my '00 D2 (180K) I have noticed a squeaking/chipping sound when accelerating, over 20mph, the sound dissipates when letting off the gas, hut comes back when at a contestant speed over 20. It almost sounds like a pulley/idler squeaking but in neutral @4k rpm no sound. Not sure if it is a hub...
Engine started to make a ticking sound when warmed up, can not really discern where the sound originates. Checked oil, was down, added more and ticking went away for about a week or so. A friend suggests timing belt, I am hoping not.

2000 LRDII 168k, ran some errands today, no problems 3 hours later went to run some other errands and will not turn over, 12v to primary (good battery). I thinking it might be a starter motor issue (throw out bearing) or some such. Any wisdom?
