Eureka!!! The truck started right up. I took it for a cruise, crawled through my river around the bridge and I am stoked! A HUGE thanks to those on dweb, I totally appreciated the help. I have a pending code of 1884 and I am going to address that this weekend. No other codes have been thrown...

Ckp sensor is now in. That was an awesome experience. I have an obd2 scanner handy... Do I need to reset adaptions after I replace the earth lead to the battery? Do I do this after I attempt to start the truck or before I start it.... ...clueless...

#goodlookingout riceybean, I needed that manual download. Kind of humbled as to not have discovered that information before, thanks. Been using old books for a d1.

Green Oval has helped. That is the shop that will help revive my disco when I can get it there.

I found that to be the case with my trapped d2. The serp belt was routed incorrect as well as the tension was incorrect. The battery is currently at 12.19v which I attribute to the routing and tension of the old belt. I am now trying to reinstall the crank position sensor. Considering...

This is also a thought with the serp belt and brake system.... All of this was done under the belief it was a d1. Did I destroy my d2 with d1 maintenance?

Is my ignorance at fault? I put a d1 wix air filter in whilst I believed I owned a d1. Is a d2 filter different and could it have an affect with said issues? I feel commonly simple for not knowing I had a d2. Everything I had pointed to d1, even the original owner (simpleton as well). I am...

Only thing I have done with this disco is new serp belt, new brake system and flushes. I have not done anything else to it other than drive. If that cats were plugged, wouldn't it still start? Even if I can get it running only to get down my property, it will save me some cheese. I turned it...

Insurance card said d1. Newbie (me) still doesn't know what I own. Original owner said d1. Paperwork said d1. Maybe I am a bit simple but are d1's and d2s drastically different in 99? I just need to to start so I can derive to shop vs tow.

Agreed. My driveway bridge won't take a big wrecker. Small wreckers can't make it up my driveway. It is what it is. I have several rigs that have difficulty getting up to my home. The tow is doable but difficult and costly. I need new friends anyways, as none of them will help with this disco...

Title sais 1999 Land Rover Discovery 1SD, whether that is accurate, I am not sure. Does this sound like an electrical issue? Alarm issue? Ckps? Fuel? I can have it towed from where it sits for $450 and that's from a friend. My options are limited to find what will get it running so I can drive...

New owner of an older discovery II (1999 4.0l with 197k). I have had this rig for about 6000 miles. I had the entire brake system replaced (all if it) and a new serp belt. Ran like a dream up until last week. I will break it down in a timeline. oil change (noticed he put 10-30w). about 50...
